Fubara sends warm Eid greetings to Muslims

Fubara sends warm Eid greetings to Muslims, urging unity, peace and harmony across Nigeria during the festive period

The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has extended warm Eid greetings to Muslim faithful in Rivers State and across Nigeria, calling for unity and peaceful coexistence among citizens.

The message, issued in Port Harcourt on Thursday through the Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, marked the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which signifies the end of Ramadan.

Siminalayi Fubara said the festival should inspire renewed commitment to peace, harmony and mutual respect, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.

“On behalf of the government and people of Rivers State, I wish all Muslim faithful a joyous Eid al-Fitr,” the governor said.

Siminalayi Fubara added that the occasion presents a powerful opportunity to strengthen bonds of unity and deepen national cohesion.

“May this occasion strengthen our bonds of peace, unity and mutual respect among all faiths. Let us continue to cherish our diversity and promote harmony, tolerance and understanding,” he stated.

The governor further urged Nigerians to embrace shared values of compassion, forgiveness and unity in their daily lives.

Eid al-Fitr, a major Islamic celebration, marks the end of Ramadan, a period devoted to fasting, prayers and almsgiving by Muslim faithful.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government had earlier declared March 19 and March 20, 2026, as public holidays to commemorate the festival.

The goodwill message comes amid nationwide celebrations, as millions of Muslims gather with family and community members in a spirit of gratitude and reflection.
