Trump issues ‘final’ ultimatum to Iran, claims whole civilisation could die tonight

Trump warns Iran over conflict deadline, urging agreement while cautioning of severe consequences if tensions escalate

In Washington, United States, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, urging authorities to reach an agreement before an imminent deadline, while cautioning that failure to do so could lead to severe global consequences.

Trump made the remarks in a post shared on his Truth Social platform, where he emphasised the urgency of resolving the ongoing tensions.

He described the situation as highly critical, suggesting that the outcome could have far reaching implications if diplomatic efforts fail.

The warning comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions involving Iran, particularly around strategic maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz, a vital corridor for global oil shipments.

Trump has previously indicated that access through the waterway must remain unobstructed, linking it to broader security concerns.

In his statement, Trump warned that a breakdown in negotiations could result in significant escalation, framing the moment as one of the most consequential in recent history.

His comments included strong language aimed at pressuring Iranian authorities to reconsider their position and engage in dialogue.

Trump Warns Iran Conflict Deadline as he reiterated that he does not want conflict to intensify but suggested that the likelihood of escalation remains high if no agreement is reached.

He also referenced the possibility of political change within Iran, implying that different leadership could influence the direction of negotiations.

The US President had earlier threatened potential action against civilian infrastructure in Iran if conditions related to free passage through the Strait of Hormuz were not met by the specified deadline.

The timeline cited corresponds to 20:00 EDT on Tuesday, aligning with early Wednesday morning in the United Kingdom.

The statement adds to growing international attention on the region, as governments and global markets closely monitor developments that could affect energy supply routes and regional stability. Analysts continue to watch for diplomatic responses as the deadline approaches.
