‘Abundant Grace’ Lagos Assembly Speaker, Obasa, implores Nigerians to be thankful rather than to despair

Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has advised Nigerians to be grateful to God for His grace rather than despair.

Dr. Obasa claims that only God’s favor has preserved Nigeria and Nigerians alive till December 2021, despite the many problems the country and its residents have faced over the year.

The Speaker made the remarks at a thanksgiving and Christmas outreach for personnel of the Lagos State House of Assembly and their wards held at the Assembly facility on Thursday.

He went on to say that the House had every reason to thank God for the year because of the accomplishments it had made in legislative operations, such as the passage of laws, motions, and resolutions aimed at improving the quality of life, peace, and happiness among the state’s citizens.

“I shall sing praises because, together with my colleagues, members of this Assembly’s staff, and my team at the Speaker’s Office, we achieved major legislative victories this year,” Obasa stated.

Concerning ‘Abundant Grace’, the theme of the thanksgiving, Speaker Obasa noted that the Bible is replete with verses emphasising the grace of God upon individuals which make them victorious each time they have to face some of the challenges of living.

In his sermon, Prophet (Dr) Samuel Kayode Abiara, the General Evangelist Worldwide of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), who was the guest minister, emphasised the need for Nigerians to be closer to God at all times.
