Veteran Nollywood actor Fabian Adibe, famed for his role in the classic TV series Things Fall Apart, has died

Fabian Adibe dies at exactly 2:30am this morning in what has been described as a calm and peaceful passing.

The veteran Nollywood actor was aged 80.

A source close to the family confirmed that Adibe passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning. His death, at exactly 2:30am, has left fans and colleagues in mourning.

Fabian Adibe rose to national fame for his powerful role in the television adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart.

His presence on screen was commanding, yet graceful — a signature that endeared him to audiences across generations.

He turned 80 in February 2025, marking eight decades of life and over half a century of contribution to Nigeria’s film and television industry.
