The environment is fundamental to all that we do, and we must protect and enhance it. We are here to make our air purer, our water cleaner, our land greener and our food more sustainable. Our mission is to restore and enhance the environment for the next generation.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), is looking for a Campaigns and Marketing Manager to develop and manage campaigns that have a profound impact on people’s lives by improving our natural world and inspiring positive behaviour change at a national level.

As a Campaigns and Marketing Manager, you will manage a national campaign to reduce the demand for puppies and kittens supplied by low-welfare breeders, campaigns on making changes for cleaner air, as well as our established campaign ‘Keep it, Bin it’, which uniting a range of partners to take sustained action on litter. This could be through briefing Ministers

By joining the team, you would have exposure to the full communications mix along with the opportunity to work closely with policy teams, other government departments and creative agencies. The role would give you exposure to a range of external partners from across the charity and commercial sector to find new and fresh ways of reaching audiences.

The role sits within the Campaigns, Digital Engagement and Brand function. This team is part of the wider communications group, working closely with press office, our internal and digital teams, and our Arm’s Length Bodies to communicate our strategic priorities.
