The Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has charged stakeholders in the ministry to embrace every transformational change and make it sustainable in order to further achieve enviable educational standards.

Prof. Arigbabu said this in Abeokuta during a Workshop organised by “Ogun State Skills Funds” titled: “Embracing Change and Change Management”, enjoining stakeholders including, the Project Coordinator Managers and Skills Development Specialists to ensure that their knowledge is transferred to the relevant Officers in the Ministry for capacity building and sustainability purposes.

The Commissioner said, “For me, I’ve always believed in sustainable changes. Whatever transformation you are making, please carry people along to make it endure for a long period of time”.

Underscoring the objectives of the workshop, the Skills Development Consultant, Engr. Segun Fatoki noted that it would enable Directors, Education Officers, and other essential stakeholders to understand the rationale behind the Skills Development programmes of the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project in line with the 21st Century system.

Delivering his lecture, Prof. Samuel Oladipo, explained that organisational change such as shifts, alterations, and movements within an organisation could significantly affect workflow processes and culture, which can be strategically managed by clear communication and solid planning, enjoining the Stakeholders to always ensure a smooth, successful and transferrable transformational process.

Prof. Oladipo enumerated types of changes to include, planned and unplanned, transformational, incremental, strategic, structural, operational, technological, personnel, and cultural, saying leaders as the bridge between the organisation and the envisioned change should clarify their vision and communicate it effectively for desired results.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has assured that the Ministry was committed to putting up mechanisms and mapping out strategies to ensure the safety of learners, teachers, and schools across the State.

He made this known during a courtesy visit by the Ogun State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. David Ojelabi to his Office in Abeokuta, saying the Ministry would provide necessary tools and support the security agencies in the State to ascertain safety in the Sector.

Responding, the Corps Commandant, Mr.Ojelabi said his Agency would synergise with other security agencies to ensure that teaching and learning are done in a safe, conducive, and peaceful environment across the State.
