The 39-year-old officer, who holds the rank of Superintendent Route Commander, reportedly left her residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, alongside her daughter on the morning of November 2, 2025, and has not been seen since.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, the disappearance was formally reported at the Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters on Tuesday by a fellow FRSC officer in the company of the victims’ family members.
“All efforts by relatives and colleagues to reach Funmilayo Oluwamayokun and her daughter on their mobile phones have proved unsuccessful,” Odutola said, confirming that the case has been escalated for urgent investigation.
Oluwamayokun, described as a fourth-level senior operational officer in the FRSC, oversees multiple routes and coordinates strategic enforcement operations in Ogun State. Her sudden disappearance has raised concern within the corps and the wider community.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, has reportedly ordered an immediate and thorough probe to determine the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and to ensure their safe return.
“The command is appealing to anyone with useful information about their whereabouts to contact the nearest police station,” the statement added, assuring that all tips will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
Residents across Abeokuta have since taken to social media to share photographs of Funmilayo Oluwamayokun and her daughter, urging the public to assist in locating them.
