‘N1bln for a dream?’ PDP candidate alleges monetary inducement to forget ambition

The People’s Democratic Party candidate in the forthcoming bye-election to replace the late Sen. Adebayo Osinowo, who until his death represented Lagos East Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Babatunde Gbadamosi, has alleged that he has been offered money to forfeit his political ambition.

The real estate mogul cum politician took to his Facebook page to vent over what he regarded as an insult and claimed he rejected the offer.

He wrote:

Your threats won’t work. N1b my big fat arse!

It was not clear who he may be referring to but comments under his post suggested that it may be the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, asking him to step down.

The bye-election, which is between him and the APC’s candidate, Tokunbo Abiru, has generated a lot of issues including a suit instituted at the federal high court in Lagos by the former. Gbadamosi is praying the court to disqualify Abiru over an alleged double registration and others.
