Abuja – Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, has reiterated his call for the “End Bad Governance in Nigeria” protesters to engage in dialogue with the government.
During a ceremony on Thursday, August 1, where he presented staff of office to four newly appointed chiefs in the territory, Wike emphasized the government’s willingness to listen to the protesters’ concerns and provide insights into governance issues they might not be aware of.
Wike praised the nonviolent nature of the protests in the FCT, urging participants to continue to resist any efforts to destabilize the nation. He stressed the importance of maintaining peace in Abuja, highlighting that any destruction in the nation’s capital would have severe repercussions for the entire country.
“Abuja as the nation’s capital remains a precious asset to the country, and if the FCT is destroyed, it will have negative consequences on the entire country,” Wike stated.
