Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi 600x375 1

Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Saheed Elegushi has condoled with the family, friends and associates of the late former governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, whose death was announced yesterday.

In a condolence message to the family signed by Special Assistant, Public Affairs to Oba Elegushi, Tope Oyefeso, the monarch described the late politician as a complete family man, who showed love to his immediate and extended family, as well as political associates and even the traditional institution, this the monarch said the late Ajimobi  demonstrated at their various interactions.

The monarch added that his love for the people and his commitment to a better society was also evident in the manner he distinguished himself in the various capacities he served, leaving indelible marks of development and progress.

The monarch while commiserating with the family and associates, urged them to be comforted by the good life he lived, his good deeds and the countless lives he touched in his years of service to Oyo State and Nigeria, which the monarch described as fulfilling God’s injunction.

“I urge you to mourn with gratitude to Almighty Allah for the good life Senator Ajimobi lived. He touched so many lives; he served the people and contributed to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria, this is what God expects of all of us, and we are grateful to the Almighty that He granted our departed father, brother and friend, Senator Abiola Ajimobi the grace to fulfil all of these”.

The monarch also commiserated with the government and people of Oyo state, and the political family of the former governor, admonishing them to continue from where he stopped, and ensure that peace and development, as well as the welfare of the people remains the focal point of their policies and programmes.

A two-term governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi died yesterday at a Lagos hospital, after a brief illness.
