Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has dramatised the risks of celebrity involvement in protests through the movie Power of 1, now streaming on YouTube.

Produced by Innocent Idibia and top Nigerian filmmakers, Power of 1 explores how a single decision can disrupt a celebrity’s life and career.

Written by Efe Omorogbe, the story follows Legit, a successful hip-hop artist, who innocently leads a protest but soon realises the devastating consequences.

As Legit challenges the government over the suffering masses, his life takes an unexpected turn, pulling down those closest to him.

The film questions whether celebrities should engage in political activism or avoid it altogether.
