AMVCA 2026 entries are now open for African film and TV, with expanded Indigenous Language categories across North and Central Africa
The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) has officially opened entries for its 12th edition, inviting filmmakers and content creators across Africa to submit films and television productions released in 2025.

Organisers said entries will be accepted until 31 January 2026, with participants encouraged to upload their work via the AMVCA website.
The awards continue to spotlight excellence in African storytelling while expanding Indigenous Language categories to include North and Central Africa.
AMVCA remains MultiChoice’s flagship initiative, celebrating outstanding contributions to African film and television.
The 12th edition aims to highlight the creativity, growth, and global potential of Africa’s entertainment industry, cementing its position as the continent’s most prestigious awards platform.
This year, the awards are headlined by Don Julio as Lead Sponsor, reflecting the continued evolution of the AMVCA into a premium celebration of African culture, creativity, and craftsmanship.
The 12th AMVCA will feature 32 award categories, including 18 jury-decided categories and 11 audience-voted awards.
Two special recognition awards the Lifetime Achievement and the Trailblazer Award will also be presented to honour exceptional contributions to African entertainment.

Organisers highlighted that the expanded Indigenous Language categories and the introduction of new recognitions reinforce the AMVCA’s commitment to inclusivity and pan-African storytelling.
The 12th edition promises to continue the legacy of recognising both established and emerging talent, providing a platform for African creatives to reach audiences across the continent and beyond.
