The party said the appointment was designed to reinforce political coordination, improve grassroots engagement and align national messaging with party priorities as the APC prepares for future electoral and governance challenges.
Senator Danladi Sankara is a two time Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and served in the Ninth Assembly as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation.
In that role, Senator Danladi Sankara oversaw policies on government communication, public enlightenment and national orientation programmes.
The former committee chairman was credited with pushing for improved transparency and stronger national values, while working to ensure that official communication remained credible and accessible to the public.
Party officials said those experiences had given Senator Danladi Sankara a deep understanding of governance and strategic political communication.
The APC also highlighted Senator Danladi Sankara’s reputation as a grassroots mobiliser with a proven ability to connect with voters and build political support at the local level.
A notable moment in Senator Danladi Sankara’s recent party work was the leadership of the committee that delivered the APC victory in the Babura Garki Federal Constituency by election, a success that party strategists cited as evidence of tactical foresight and organisational strength.
Political analysts said the appointment would help the APC refine its internal decision making and sharpen its engagement with the electorate at a time when parties face rising demands for accountability and responsiveness.
The advisory role is expected to ensure that the office of the National Chairman remains closely connected to both national policy debates and grassroots realities.
Party officials described the move as both a recognition of past contributions and a forward looking investment in the APC’s future direction.
