VSE Aso James, Embattled Shepherd, C.C.C. Overcomers Parish, Ajah, Lagos.

A member of the Celestial Church of Christ, Overcomers Parish, Oke-Ira Nla, Ajah, Lagos, has come out to debunk the falsehood being spread about the unfortunate developments that led to the death of Dogo, a Hausa man contracted to evacuate the soak-away pit of the Parish. He also threw more light on the subsequent mob action, carnage and arson that followed.

Recall that Freelanews reports how the church was attacked and set on fire over a false narrative regarding the unfortunate incident.

In a post on his social media handle with the name xin_nightwolf, the church member who was an eye witness to the carnage and arson, stated that the perpetrators of the dastardly act cannot be described as an angry mob but a bunch of looters that spent two hours looting the Mission House and stealing all electronic devices and musical instruments in sight. They even went to the extent of removing electric cables and slaughtering and sharing the cow tied down in the Parish premises for the Juvenile Harvest on Sunday.

This is my church @cccovercomersparish and I’m a leader in the church. Dogo was contracted to evacuate the cesspool/soak-away…He’s well known to work at night and ride bikes by day…While the church was observing the 7 members prayer for the New Moon Service, Dogo came in with his tools and ladder…

Nobody bothered him as he’s a regular face in the church…he does all sorts of odd jobs for the Shepherd, washes car, supplies planks as the church is going through some minor renovations…While working, he fell down into the soak-away…In the attempt of bringing him out, he held the Evangelist who went into the soak-away to help him down to the point that both of them drowned…

Luckily, when they were brought out, the Evangelist was still alive but was in critical condition. Dogo had passed out due to the ingestion of the waste. The woman sounding in the video condemning the Celestial Church is one of the neighbours around who does not like the fact that there’s a C.C.C. Parish in the neighbourhood…

It’s all lies. I was in church this morning when it all played out…we barely made it out alive…we had to go over the back fence from the Mercy Land to the second street behind us…If they were angry, they could have just burnt the entire church down…they took two good hours to loot everything including the Mission House…stole every electronic device…every sound system and musical instruments…they even removed electrical cables.

The cow that was tied down for the Juvenile Harvest on Sunday was butchered and the meat was shared…this was not about anger…it was all rumours and hatred attack…they mounted guard in the entire area chanting that they were gonna kill any Celestial member they find…that we killed their brother for ritual purposes…

The Shepherd and the church Secretary were later found where they were hiding, brought out, stripped naked and beaten to stupor. They were even going to burn them alive…

It took the Police several hours to show up and save them…this mob were going from house to house to look for Celestial members, they were predominantly bike riders so they recognize some members who often board bikes to church…the area isn’t still safe as I speak tonight…God help us…

The Celestial Church of Christ is a Bible believing church focused on evangelizing the world through the proclamation of the word – the good news of the Messiah Jesus Christ and of the Kingdom of God; in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, proclaiming deliverance to those bound by the shackles of Satan, healing the broken-hearted, the sick, the deformed, restoring hope to the hopeless and those who are bound, while reinforcing the faith of all – both feeble and strong in the unfailing righteousness and faithfulness of God Almighty and Jesus Christ, the Lord and Saviour.
