On October 5, Dokubo claimed he could shoot down military helicopters and asserted that he could contend with the Nigerian military.
In response, Maj Gen Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, invited Dokubo to the battlefield to prove his claims.
He expressed disbelief at Dokubo’s statements, labelling them as laughable. Buba stressed that the military would neutralise Dokubo if he followed through with his threats.
Buba reassured the public that the military operates within a democratic framework, highlighting that due consideration is given before any action.
He emphasised the need for all security agencies to collaborate on such matters. The military’s primary focus remains on combating terrorism, as they have successfully eliminated over 300 terrorist commanders recently.
Buba concluded by reiterating the military’s commitment to diminish terrorist capabilities while inviting Dokubo to witness their prowess firsthand on the battlefield.
