Bobrisky female awards controversy

Embattled Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky swears off female awards after legal battles linked to his ‘Best Dressed Female’ win.

Controversial Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky has vowed to reject any award or recognition intended for females, citing past experiences that led to legal troubles.

He made this declaration on Instagram, blaming actress Eniola Ajao and her award for his recent woes.

Bobrisky won the ‘Best Dressed Female’ award at Ajao’s movie premiere in March 2024, an event that spiralled into controversy.

Shortly after, he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for naira abuse during the ceremony and sentenced to six months in jail.

Following his release, a leaked audio surfaced online, in which Bobrisky allegedly admitted to bribing EFCC officials to serve his sentence in a luxury apartment. The revelation sparked online outrage and led to his re-arrest.

In a reflective Instagram story post, Bobrisky stated, “My problem started when I collected the best dressed female award with N1 million prize. For my life, if I see an award for best dressed female, I go disappear from that location ASAP.”

He added, “Everyone knows I’m a baddie with class, but when the problem wan too much, make I run.”

The crossdresser, who reportedly fled Nigeria following his re-arrest, attributed all his problems to the award, hinting that it had become a turning point in his life.

Actress Eniola Ajao, whose event awarded Bobrisky the controversial prize, is yet to comment on the claims.

Bobrisky’s ordeal has reignited public debate about his lifestyle and the legal controversies that continue to follow him.
