Born Idris Okuneye, the internet sensation declared that he should now be addressed as Afolashade Amope Okuneye, a move he states reflects his full embrace of his feminine identity.

Taking to his verified Instagram account, Bobrisky boldly posted, “My new name is Afolashade Amope Okuneye,” sparking a flurry of reactions from his extensive online following.

The announcement has ignited fresh discussions surrounding identity, gender expression, and societal norms within Nigeria.

Online reactions ranged from humour to playful acceptance. Instagram user @wezma01 commented, “Werey nie seh Idris!” while @officialomoborty humorously enquired, “WHO rechristened you? Ojo wo ni ikomo bayi?”

“My new name is Afolashade Amope Okuneye

Another user, @am_djshegzzeey, affectionately referred to Bobrisky as “Mummy of Lagos,” a nod to his self-proclaimed title.

Some followers welcomed the new name with open arms, with @morenikejialayo playfully asking, “Aunt Amope mi should I send my account?” and @classicbukolami warmly writing, “Welcome anty Folasade.”
