Bobrisky was allegedly attempting to flee Nigeria for Benin Republic in an effort to avoid an ongoing investigation by the House of Representatives.
The report of his arrest was shared by another controversial figure, social critic Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, on Instagram. Verydarkman claimed that Bobrisky was apprehended by immigration officers as he tried to escape to Benin Republic.
He further suggested that Bobrisky’s sudden departure was linked to the investigation into the sensational bribery allegations that Bobrisky had made against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service.
In an Instagram post, Verydarkman wrote, “Bobrisky has been arr€sted this morning at the Seme Border while trying to enter Benin Republic to escape the current investigation by the House of Reps.
He is allegedly being held by Nigerian immigration…MAKE WE WAIT FOR BOB TO DEBUNK.”
At the time of writing, The Crest has not independently verified the claims of Bobrisky’s arrest. However, it is known that Bobrisky has recently come under scrutiny for refusing to cooperate with a House of Representatives committee.
The committee is probing viral video footage in which Bobrisky allegedly admitted to bribing EFCC operatives, with the aid of his “God-father,” in order to serve time outside prison and have charges of money laundering dropped.
Bobrisky’s accusations have sparked outrage across Nigeria, with many demanding a thorough investigation to uncover the truth.

The allegations have also cast a shadow over the EFCC’s reputation, with public confidence in the anti-corruption agency seemingly shaken.
Critics argue that the EFCC, once seen as a bastion of integrity, may now be tainted by corruption, with calls for widespread reforms within the organisation.
As the investigation progresses, Nigerians remain eager to see how the allegations will be addressed, especially with Bobrisky reportedly attempting to evade justice.
The situation is still unfolding, and all eyes are on the authorities to provide clarity and accountability in this high-profile case.
