‘Breaking News’ ARCON bans use of foreign models, voice over artists in Nigeria

In an attempt at protecting local contents, the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON, has banned the use of foreign models and voice over artists in the Nigerian advertising medium and media starting from October 1, 2022.

This was made known this morning at the ongoing Press Briefing on the new ARCON Law and the advertising framework in Nigeria organised by the regulatory body at the L’ Eola Hotel in Maryland Lagos.

Making the announcement, the Director-General of ARCON, Dr Olalekan Fadolapo revealed that the ban will take effect from  October 1, 2022.

Dr. Fadolapo, however, clarified that running or ongoing campaigns would be allowed to run out of its course.

More details later.
