Cardi B defends pornography after Candace Owens urges for a total ban

Cardi B has defended pornography after Candace Owens branded it a ‘psychological weapon’ online.

There’s no questioning the topic of the adult film industry is a divisive one, with many concerns around exploitation as well as the impact it has on those who watch it.

However, many have expressed their enjoyment working in porn, so it seems people have varying experiences within the sector.

Earlier this month, the conservative political commentator Candace Owens made her thoughts on adult-content clear with a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In response to that, Cardi B shared an Instagram comment in defense of porn, in a screenshot shared by TMZ.

“Ommmggg why yall so against porn ? Is it that bad for yall?” she wrote.

“I enjoy it but I don’t know I guess is like a 6 time a year thing. I personally don’t feel no connection or addiction to it just a little quick one two … NOTHING LIKE REAL INTIMACY!”

The singer went on to say how she feels pornography should ‘actually teach men how to please a woman’.

Former adult star and Euphoria actor Chloe Cherry has previously opened up on her past career in adult film being ‘incredibly toxic’.

Speaking openly to Eileen Kelly on her Going Mental podcast in 2022, the actor said: “The porn industry is so much more toxic when it comes to body image than the fashion industry.

“I’ve been in both, and in the fashion industry people just allow bodies to be, and I see girls of many different body types on sets and I love it.

“Whereas in porn there was literally one f***ing body you could have, porn was so strict.”

Cherry added: “I don’t know why in fashion we understand that people like a lot of different kinds of bodies, but in porn it’s still a certain way.”

Providing further insight into the world of porn, the actor also noted: “I think it is stuck there because I think all the people that run it are just old… It’s just like every other industry, it’s just run by a bunch of stupid old white men.

“In amateur porn, which is viewed way more than professional porn, people have average bodies… but that sells way better than professional pornography; why don’t they take a tip from that and just have normal looking people in it?”.
