Chelsea made history by winning the UEFA Europa Conference League, defeating Real Betis 4-1 to become the first club to claim all four major UEFA club competition trophies

[dropcap]C[/dropcap]helsea Football Club made history on Wednesday night, May 28, 2025, by emphatically defeating Real Betis 4-1 in the UEFA Europa Conference League final.

This victory marks a monumental achievement for the West London club, as they become the first club ever to win all four major UEFA club competitions: the Champions League, Europa League, Cup Winners’ Cup, and now, the Europa Conference League.

The win not only added another prestigious trophy to Chelsea’s cabinet but also brought an end to a remarkable era of Spanish dominance in European finals.

Until Chelsea’s decisive victory, no Spanish men’s team had lost a European final to a non-Spanish side since 2001, a remarkable streak that had lasted 19 matches.

Milestones and Records Set

Cole Palmer Joins Elite Company: Rising star Cole Palmer delivered two crucial assists in the final.

This feat places him in a select group of players to record two or more assists in a major European final since the 2016/17 season, joining only Marcelo and Koke in achieving this across the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

Chelsea have become the first team to win all four major European club competitions, following their emphatic 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the UEFA Europa Conference League final.

Fourth UEFA Conference League Champion: With this triumph, Chelsea became the fourth club to lift the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy since the tournament’s inception in 2022.

London Clubs Celebrate Treble Success: The victory capped off a dominant season for London clubs on both continental and domestic stages.

Crystal Palace lifted the FA Cup, Tottenham Hotspur claimed the Europa League title, and Chelsea secured the Conference League trophy, delivering a rare treble of silverware for the English capital.

Historic European Trophy Set Completed: Chelsea had previously won the UEFA Champions League twice, the UEFA Europa League twice, and the now-defunct UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup twice.

Their Conference League triumph now positions them uniquely as the only club to have completed the set of all four major UEFA club trophies.

Chelsea’s comprehensive 4-1 victory over their Spanish opponents underscores a strategic and determined campaign, culminating in a record-breaking moment for the club and European football.
