Chief Ajibade , a chieftaincy title holder from Osun State, has been arrested for allegedly forcing a young man accused of stealing corn to drink a poisonous substance.

The troubling incident, which unfolded in Ireti Ayo Area, Ilesa, has left a community in shock.
The victim, 25-year-old Ebenezer, was accused of stealing two pieces of maize from Ajibade’s farm.
A disturbing video from the scene shows Ebenezer seated on the ground with corn beside him as an elderly man allegedly Chief Ajibade forces him to drink from a cup containing an unknown substance.
Despite initial fears, Ebenezer survived after being rushed to Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesa, where doctors acted swiftly to neutralize the poison.
However, the tragedy deepened when false news of his death reached his father. Overcome with shock, the man reportedly collapsed and died.
Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi confirmed Chief Ajibade’s arrest in Ipetu Ijesa and his transfer to Osogbo. Ojelabi urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue.
