[dropcap]C[/dropcap]hief Niyi Akinsiju, Chairman of the Independent Media and Policy Initiative (IMPI) and renowned media expert, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Development Communication by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
This landmark achievement follows five years of rigorous coursework, examinations, and a successful thesis defence.
Chief Akinsiju is a prolific writer with a MSc in Mass Communication/Media Studies and serves as the publisher of Fortune & Class magazine, one of Nigeria’s leading analytical business publications.
He is also the CEO of Fortune & Class Limited, a media, branding, and public relations firm.
The award was confirmed in a congratulatory message from IMPI Vice Chairman, Mallam Danjuma Mohammad. “Chief Akinsiju’s doctorate is a testament to his commitment to academic excellence and leadership in policy evaluation,” the statement read.
Since founding IMPI, Chief Akinsiju has consistently led efforts to evaluate and improve national policies.
Under his leadership, IMPI has issued 16 policy advisories, offering fresh perspectives on various national issues.
His contributions to public discourse and his dedication to intellectual advancement have made IMPI a respected think-tank in Nigeria’s policy landscape.
The IMPI leadership expressed their pride in Chief Akinsiju’s academic accomplishment and prayed for continued success in his role.
“We pray that God grants him the strength to continue leading IMPI to new heights,” the statement concluded.
