Nigerian comedian Sabinus, popularly known as Mr Funny, has taken to social media to address the decreasing use of perfume and body spray among Nigerians, expressing concern over the apparent neglect of personal hygiene practices.
In a candid post on social media, Sabinus highlighted the Nigerian government’s caution against spraying money, drawing parallels with the decline in the use of fragrances and the practice of shaving armpits. He lamented encountering unpleasant odors in public spaces, likening some individuals to the scent of onions.
Expressing his dismay, Sabinus recounted instances where excited fans disregarded his personal space, subjecting him to unpleasant odors by putting his head under their armpits without considering his well-being.
He said, “Na Naira government say make we no spray o, no be perfume o. Some people no dey spray perfume again o. Wetin dey really happen? Person go dey smell onions onions. Armpit people no dey shave. Shave your armpits, buy roll-on N1500, spray am. Nothing wey person no dey see for road.”
Sabinus emphasized the importance of personal hygiene and urged individuals to prioritize grooming practices such as shaving armpits and using body spray to maintain a pleasant scent. He shared his discomfort at being subjected to unpleasant odors in public settings, urging Nigerians to uphold basic hygiene standards.
