No matter how long you take a break from what you love, you will always fit back in when duty calls.

This was exactly the case of Pat Obilor, one of Nigeria’s most alluring female broadcasters, who took a break from radio activities following the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Lagos and UK based media personality cum playwright and theatre producer, who recently showcased her adaptation of Williams Shakespeare’s Kinglear at her alma mater, University of Ibadan, is set for a full media comeback after ten years since 2012 when she was last in Oyo State.

Obilor had her National Youth Service Corps programme at the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Osogbo and went to the United Kingdom afterwards. She returned to the country and have been in Lagos media space for 5years till COVID-19 outbreak. Her last place of engagement was Nigeria Info FM.

Speaking on her passion for media and theatre, she said:

Pat Obilor is now a presenter on Jamz FM

“Apart from this being a thing of purpose for me, I have also been able to understand the business side of it. Theatre gave me education and media gave me experience.

“Today, I merge both to carve a niche for myself in life. I believe if one stays disciplined and uplifts the skills and talents they possess, it will open many doors of greatness.

“I am grateful for the opportunities I have enjoyed in the media industry and how it has given me international recognition. So when Ibadan’s prestigious station, Jamz 100.1 FM called, I had to answer. It’s the little I could do to give back to the profession and to the predecessors I met on the job.”

Pat Obilor will be live on weekdays 4-8PM on Jamz 100.1 FM as she would be serenading Ibadan and its environs with her sonorous Voice.
