The executive governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has joined several notable Nigerians, friends, family and associates to felicitate with the matriarch of the Anyiam-Osigwe family and the Executive Vice Chairman of the Anyiam-Osigwe Group, Chief (Mrs.) Dorothy Anyiam-Osigwe, on her 93rd birthday.
The event, which was held exactly on her birthday, February 27, in Lagos, started with a thanksgiving service at the St. Dominics Catholic Church, Yaba, while the reception was held at the popular Marcillina’s Place, GRA Ikeja.
Sanwo-Olu extolled the exemplary leadership qualities of the Anyiam-Osigwe matriarch, while wishing her many more years of good health and happiness.
The matriarch is the mother of the popular Nollywood practitioner, current president of Association Of Movie Producers (AMP), Peace Anyiam Osigwe, who is also the founder of the successful Africa Movie Academy Awards. The event is held annually to honour professionals in the African film industry.
And the celebrant’s husband, late Chief Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe, was an international businessman of repute into supply of crude oil and many other products.
His wife and sons continued the business after his demise and had contributed immensely to the building of a world-class conglomerate.
