Recent developments in Eredo Town, Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, have raised serious concerns about the safety, peace, and well-being of the community.

The Oba of Odomola, Oba Shina Adebowale, has been accused of culpable as notorious land grabbers create unrest, posing a threat to the lives and properties of residents.

In a joint statement signed by the Eredo Community Leader, Olawale Olaonipekun, and Youth Leader, Dare Shambakiyu, the community is under siege by hoodlums sponsored by monarch, identified as Ganiyu Owoeye, Abiodun Adebayo, Yemi Odumosu, Abdullahi (Jogunomi), Taye Enitiodunmo, Sir Kay Oluwo, and MD Empire Estate (Goke Empire).

These individuals are reported to be using arms and ammunition to instigate fear, making the community unsafe for its members.

Specific families, including those of Olaonipekun Adewale, Matthew Murtala, Dare Odumosu, Ajoke Habibat Arowolo, Bolanle Ayeni, Imam Olanrewaju Wakeel, Dare Shambakiyu, and Iyabo Hakeem, are being targeted and harassed due to their status as landowners in Eredo.

The Eredo Community, led by Olaonipekun, the acting Baale of the community, urgently calls for government intervention to restore peace and order. The affected community members are seeking refuge outside Eredo as the situation has rendered the area uninhabitable.

The Eredo Community leaders emphasized the need for the government to deploy mechanisms to apprehend and bring the perpetrators to justice. The possession of illegal firearms by these hoodlums highlights a breakdown in law enforcement within the community.

Olaonipekun and Shambakiyu plea for immediate government action to preserve the safety and well-being of the citizens. According to the duo, the situation demands urgent attention to uphold peace, law, and order in Eredo Town.

The Eredo Community hopes that the government and state stakeholders will swiftly address this alarming state of unrest and take decisive actions against those disrupting the peace and harmony of the community.
