The Mo Arena Sports Hall will host the three-day extravaganza, featuring Nigeria University Games champions Nile University, premiership giants Gboko City Chiefs, and other top West African clubs.
Hanson Oguche, president and founder of Crown Elite Sports, described the event as a thrilling celebration of both basketball and education.
“We are truly excited to bring the Crown Elite All-Star event to Nigeria’s vibrant capital city, Abuja.
This edition promises to be thrilling, as it not only celebrates the heart of basketball in our nation but also emphasises the importance of education among athletes,” he said.
The weekend begins August 22 with exhibition matches involving Mo Heat Basketball Club, Royal Aces, and Air Warriors, backed by Hotcoal Basketball Foundation as a key sponsor.
The main All-Star games on August 23 will pit the Sahel Conference Co-Ed Select Team, coached by Nile University’s Hamza Abubakar, against the Oceanic Conference squad led by Ogoh Odaudu, the 2024 NBA Basketball Africa League Coach of the Year and Nigeria’s national coach.
Fans can also expect a legends showdown between ABU Kings Alumni and a Rest of World Veterans Select Team, as well as fan-favourite contests like slam dunks and three-point shooting battles.
The climax arrives on August 24 with a VIP Awards Presentation, recognising outstanding players, coaches, officials, and stakeholders in Nigerian basketball.
