Two young men have lost their lives in a cult clash in the Agbowa area of Sagamu, Ogun State, as revealed by the Ogun State Police Command.
The incident unfolded during a routine weekend patrol by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Acting on intelligence from a concerned citizen with a private identity, the DPO received information about a group of six unknown men suspected to be cultists causing trouble in the Agbowa area, leading to a clash with a rival cult group.
Upon swift response, the patrol team led by the DPO discovered three young men lying lifeless with gunshot wounds to their heads. The victims were rushed to Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital, where they were pronounced dead by a doctor and the bodies were subsequently transferred to the morgue.
At the crime scene, eight expended cartridges, one live cartridge, and a Samsung phone were recovered. In connection with the cult clash, the police arrested three individuals identified as Oluwatosin Adeniro (25 years old), Adebayo Oluwasun (35 years old), and Segun Ademola (38 years old).
The Commissioner of Police, CP Alamutu Abiodun, personally oversaw the situation in Sagamu over the weekend, ensuring heightened police visibility to instill confidence among residents. The police assured residents to carry out their daily routines without fear, emphasizing their commitment to bringing the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and assured that anyone found responsible for the violence would be prosecuted accordingly.
