Famous Afrobeat musician Davido has dismissed rumours of any conflict between him and fellow artist Wizkid.

Speaking in a trending interview with BBC radio, the singer explained that the purpose of their hangout before the release of his Timeless album in 2023 was to demonstrate unity and ensure his album launch remained free of unnecessary drama.

In a video shared by bwetv.ng, Davido recounted how he reached out to Tomiwa, a prominent fan who connects with others across fanbases, asking him to avoid stirring any tension with Wizkid’s fanbase, known as FC. Davido emphasised that he and Wizkid had no personal issues and hoped to prevent any online conflicts between their fans before the album drop.

“I was with Wizkid a couple of days ago, and we were not fighting. Don’t fight anybody because I want my album to come out clean,” Davido recalled.

Despite his best efforts, a portion of his fanbase engaged in conflict, and the album leaked two days before its official launch. However, Davido also praised his fans, acknowledging their positive sides.
