The industrial action embarked upon by members of organised labour in Ogun State might not be ending anytime soon as the peace meeting ended in deadlock.
Recall that Freelanews reported that a meeting was held with the labour leaders at the instance of the state government yesterday.
According to a statement made available to our correspondent, the labour leaders rejected the offers by the state government.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it’s been a very long day full of struggle and upheavals ,the organised labour went into a meeting with the state government who brought out their offers to the workers.
“When eventually our leaders came out they decided to address us at NLC Secretariat, Leme, Abeokuta.
“When eventually, they addressed the comrades present with the mind that a WORKERS CONGRESS will be called. The entire comrades present unanimously rejected the OFFER from the government hence the strike is continuous and the meeting DEADLOCKED,” a statement read.
The indefinite strike continues till further notice.
