Difficulties uploading WAEC results on JAMB CAPS portal cause concern among parents and students ahead of post-UTME exams

Several parents and candidates told PUNCH Online and voiced concerns on social media that JAMB-accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres have been unable to upload 2025 WAEC results to the CAPS platform.
This challenge has raised fears about losing admission opportunities as some universities have started requesting candidates to upload their results ahead of post-UTME screenings.
Fatimah Ajayi, a worried parent, shared, “My daughter and I went to the CBT neighbourhood on Wednesday, and they said they have not been able to upload 2025 WAEC results on CAPS and don’t know when the portal will be accessible.
With the University of Ibadan’s post-UTME screening coming up, my daughter risks missing the exam without an admission letter from CAPS.”
Another parent, Aliu Kehinde, added, “We hear JAMB has suspended uploading WAEC results on CAPS. CBT centres say they can’t upload. I just want to upload my son’s improved WAEC result after the review.”
On social media, concerned candidates echoed these frustrations. On X, user Abayomi Oluwatobiloba tweeted, “Going to CBT centres daily without being able to upload results on CAPS is exhausting and costly.”
Another user, Ridtech, asked, “When will the 2025 portal for uploading WAEC results on JAMB CAPS be reopened?”
In response, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin denied claims that the board suspended uploads.
“It is not true that JAMB suspended uploading WAEC results on CAPS. People are uploading. WAEC had a problem, so some candidates had to wait until it was resolved, which it has been,” Benjamin told PUNCH Online.
The CAPS platform was designed to streamline admission processes, reduce multiple admissions, and provide reliable data for education stakeholders.
Despite these difficulties, JAMB assures candidates that the system is operational, urging patience and persistence.
