Amid swirling rumors and online slander, the Oba of Ikate Kingdom in Lagos State, Saheed Ademola Elegushi, vehemently denies allegations of fathering Liam, the son of late Nigerian singer, Mohbad.
In a decisive move to combat the spread of false and malicious stories, the International Police Division of the Nigerian Police has been petitioned to take action against cyberbullies tarnishing Oba Elegushi’s reputation.
In a petition crafted by the traditional ruler’s legal team, M. A. Banire & Associates, attention is drawn to Abosede Comfort Ilesanmi, a Nigerian based in Germany, and Bukky Jesse, a UK resident, who persistently utilize their social media platforms, particularly TikTok, to propagate baseless claims against Oba Elegushi.
Last year, the duo launched a relentless campaign asserting that Oba Elegushi fathered a child with Omowunmi Aloba, the late Mohbad’s wife, despite numerous denials from the monarch.
Excerpts from the petition highlight the gravity of the situation, stating, “These claims are baseless, unwarranted and unsubstantiated by any evidence. It is pertinent to also state that despite our client’s various denials of this phantom allegation of paternity, Mrs. Abosede Comfort Ilesanmi continues to mischievously assert these claims solely to besmirch our client’s good name.”
With cyberbullying reaching alarming proportions, Oba Elegushi’s pursuit of justice underscores his unwavering commitment to preserving his reputation and standing against online defamation.
As the legal battle unfolds, the Oba remains resolute in his quest for truth and accountability, sending a clear message that false accusations will not go unchallenged.
