The Federal Commissioner representing Ogun state at the Federal Character Commission, Abuja, Rt. Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade, has saluted the efforts of the officers of the Nigeria Police Force in the ongoing recruitment exercise in the state.
Akinlade made this known in Abeokuta when he visited the Police Headquarters at Eleweeran in the state and was received by the State Commissioner of Police Mr. Edward Awolowo Ajogun and his team.
According to him, the purpose of his visit is to ensure equity and fair play in the recruitment process.
“The purpose of the visit is to ensure equity and fair play in the selection of the yet to be officers without compromising efficiency, competency and other necessary requirements,” he said.
While conducting the FCC Commissioner round, Police Commissioner, gave kudos to the Inspector General of Police by making the recruitment a grassroots based with the concepts of community Policing.

The Ogun State representative at the commission stressed that the selection process must cut across all the 20 local government areas that makes up the state.
Furthermore, he pointed out that considering the delicate period the nation was, where every regions and federating units were agitating for opportunities, the issue of marginalization and the employment process into the civil service was sacrosanct.
Akinlade, while appreciating the Commissioner of Police for a job well done, advised the commissioner of police in the state and other members present at the gathering to display a high level of equity and balancing while discharging their duties in the recruitment exercise.
“The Federal Character Commission is ready to ensure equity and balance across the length and breadth of the state in ensuring that nobody is discriminated against on the basis of his sex, local government, religion, or in whatever form,” he said.
Rt. Hon Akinlade Abiodun was at the Police Command with the FCC State coordinator Mr Adeniran and other State officers. The ongoing Police recruitment exercise will end next week Saturday.
