Lagos-Ibadan crash kills three and leaves several injured as emergency services respond and authorities manage the scene
Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed on Wednesday that a fatal crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Tuesday claimed three lives and left multiple others seriously injured. The incident occurred near the Secretariat, heading towards the Otedola Bridge.

According to LASTMA, the collision involved three vehicles, causing significant disruption to traffic along one of Nigeria’s busiest highways.
“Three vehicles were involved in the collision, resulting in three fatalities and several serious injuries,” the agency stated on its official X handle.
Emergency responders from the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) were promptly deployed to the scene, providing immediate medical attention to the injured victims.
Officers from LASTMA and the Nigerian Police Force managed traffic and ensured order while recovery operations were underway.
Authorities said efforts are ongoing to clear the crash site and restore normal traffic flow. Motorists were advised to exercise caution when approaching the area, particularly during peak hours.
Residents and commuters expressed shock at the incident, noting the importance of enhanced road safety measures on the expressway, which has been the site of multiple accidents in recent months.
