Responding to allegations made by his predecessor, Reuben Abati, in 2016 about supernatural occurrences in the Aso Villa, Adesina stated, “I didn’t see anything like that; no witches, no wizards, nothing like that in the Villa.” He further mentioned that he enjoyed eight years of peaceful living in the Villa and had no encounters with paranormal activities.
Adesina’s comments came as he launched his book, ‘Working with Buhari: Reflections of A Special Adviser, Media, and Publicity (2015-2023),’ at an event in Abuja attended by notable dignitaries, including President Buhari, President Bola Tinubu, and ex-Head of State Yakubu Gowon.
At the book presentation, President Tinubu commended Buhari for his non-interference in governance since leaving office in 2023. Tinubu highlighted Buhari’s commitment to democracy and his collaborative approach to addressing challenges in the country. He expressed gratitude for Buhari’s hands-off stance, stating, “Thank you for being who you are.”
President Tinubu also reiterated his dedication to resolving outstanding challenges and addressing insecurity across Nigeria. He acknowledged the difficult period during which Buhari assumed office, citing economic challenges and the Boko Haram insurgency. Tinubu pledged to continue efforts to eliminate the remaining threats, including Boko Haram, Ansaru, banditry, and kidnapping.
