The incident, which occurred on Sunday, 5 April, claimed the lives of the gospel artistes who were also family members.
According to Florence Okupe, the Ogun State Commander and Public Information Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the singers were travelling in one of the affected vehicles. She confirmed that they died at the scene of the accident.
Okupe expressed her deep condolences to the bereaved families and emphasised the urgent need for motorists to exercise caution on the roads. She particularly warned against excessive speeding, which remains a leading cause of road accidents in Nigeria.
“These were vibrant individuals whose talents had significantly enriched the gospel scene,” Okupe said. “We urge all road users to prioritise safety to avoid such devastating losses.”
