‘Heed!’ Fritz Awards maiden edition calls for entries

Fritz Awards, Nigeria, has opened its call for entries. The event date is December 16, 2020.

The award in its maiden edition seeks to be the foremost platform rewarding creativity, excellence, ingenuity and hard work in the film industry globally, continentally and locally. It strives to tell stories that are diverse, experimental, compelling, and that matter.

June 1, 2020 – Submissions open

August 31, 2020 – Final Deadline

October 12, 2020 – Notification

The award is named in honour of Friedrich Christian Anton “Fritz” Lang, Austrian-German-American Filmmaker, Screenwriter and Film Producer.

Aside the many qualities that stood him out among his peers including tenacity, doggedness and the drive for excellence, he is noted to be the first filmmaker to feature a black person in his movie.
