Suspended solicitor Geoffrey Nwadike says he will sell land in Nigeria to repay a €63,280 deficit in his client account

Geoffrey Nwadike, a solicitor currently under suspension, has stated he intends to sell land in Nigeria to repay a €63,280 shortfall in his client account.

The commitment follows regulatory investigations into financial misconduct during his legal practice.

During a recent disciplinary hearing, Nwadike reportedly told the authorities that he would liquidate Nigerian property to cover the deficit.

While specifics of the land or timeline remain unclear, the claim forms part of his response to mounting legal scrutiny.

Geoffrey was suspended after an audit revealed discrepancies in the handling of client funds.

The €63,280 deficit refers to missing or misused funds from a dedicated client account, a serious breach under solicitor conduct rules.

The statement has sparked renewed concern about solicitor accountability, particularly when restitution relies on foreign assets.

Legal observers note that while repaying the funds is essential, the method and timeframe may influence the outcome of any further sanctions.

At present, no official confirmation has been issued regarding the property sale or payment. Regulators continue to monitor the case closely.

This development adds to a growing list of high-profile disciplinary cases testing the robustness of professional safeguards within the legal industry.
