A gospel singer Lady Evang. Angel Adewumi, her husband and two others have been kidnapped in Kwara State.

This was contained in a memo by the State Governor of Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria (GOMAN), Evang. Gabriel Jolayemi, and the State Secretary Ajayi Oluwatoyin to the National President Evang. Phillip Olayiwola over the weekend.

The family was said to have been attacked and kidnapped in the early hours of Saturday, November 11, 2023 at their residence in Agbeku town of Kwara State.

In the process, her husband was shot dead, her son, was hospitalized for sustained injury from gunshot, while the minstrel was kidnapped together with two other people.

The State’s GOMAN Governor explained, “With a great pain in our hearts we want to inform you that one of our committed members here in Kwara State was kidnapped in early hours of 11/11/2023 at her residence in Agbeku town of Kwara State. She is by name Lady Evang. Angel Adewumi. Her husband was shot dead in the process, her son hospitalized for sustained injury from gunshot, while the minstrel was kidnapped together with two other people.

“Prayers have been raised since then, and from the information reaching us as at today 13/11/23, we were told the kidnappers are asking for N14,000,000 (Fourteen Million Naira) before they can be released.

“We really need the whole Association to come to our aids both in raising altars of prayers and cash in order to rescue our beloved Sister.

“We believe God in His infinite mercy is at work on this issue and will give us total victory in Jesus name.”

The ugly incident has been confirmed by the national secretariat of the association. The national president Evang. Phillip Olayiwola Pholat through the National Secretary Evang. Dr. Boladale Stephen-Amzat in a swift response has reacted to the clarion call by declaring a day of prayer for a safe rescue of the victims.

A memo from the National Prayer Coordinator, Evang. Mrs. Stella Adeniyi Ajayi and the Secretary to the National Prayer Team, Rev. Yinka Okeniyi, has also called for prayers for the release of the victims.

“Through the National Prayer Coordinator, Apostle Dr. Mrs. Stella Adeniyi Ajayi, as directed by the GOMAN National President, Pastor. Dr. Philip Olayiwola, this is to inform GOMAN Nationwide to pray fervently today for the release of our dear sister and mother, Evang. Mrs. Angel Adewumi, who was kidnapped two days ago, to be released alive from the hands of kidnappers,” they requested.

Time fixed was Monday 13th November, 2023 between 9:00 and 10:00pm on GOMAN’s Devotional Platform.

“It is our prayers that there will be no loss in GOMAN as the year is running to an end, and our sister Adewumi Angel and those in the captive of the enemies will be delivered in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen” quoting Psalm 46.
