Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, has revealed his unwavering support for, Buhari.
In a recent interview, Kosoko was questioned if he had ever regretted campaigning for the president because of the country’s current circumstances, and he definitely stated that he would never regret announcing his support for the incumbent leader in 2015.
The actor stated that while he cannot dispute that some of President Buhari’s actions and inactions are upsetting, he cannot say that the President is an entirely poor leader.
“So many things are to blame for the mess we’re in,” Kosoko remarked. I can’t speak for the government, but I can’t claim Buhari’s administration is perfect. I’ve never said it before, and I probably won’t say it again, but I’m disappointed in some of his behaviors.
I despise situations in which the APC government constantly reminds us of how horrible things have been since the PDP took control.
“We were all aware of that before you came on board, but assuming power implies that you have a solution to the difficulties, therefore that is my personal concern.”
I wanted to believe Buhari when he said discipline was his motto, but he should realize that creating a corrupt-free society comes with a lot of challenges.
“It’s just like a dog eating bone and you want to collect the bone, it would be a tug of war. I believe him and personally, Buhari is not corrupt, but so many things are still going on. This means that prompt action must be taken to ensure that those things stop.”
When asked if he ever regrets advocating for Buhari in 2015, Kosoko reiterated his support for the incumbent leadership, saying, “No, I can never.” I’ll question you, as well as all the Nigerian kids who are going up and down, saying various things. Allow them to show us who to follow; do you know who will succeed?
“You know, Professor Wole Soyinka was named the FRSC’s founding Corps Marshall, and he rushed away because he couldn’t tolerate it. So, if you can confirm to me that Jide Kosoko is the finest candidate to lead us, I will follow you. But no one knows; we’re all experimenting,” Kosoko said in an interview.
