Members of a social political group, Lagos Agenda, have expressed their shock and displeasure at the barrage of lies being peddled by People’s Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, in his quest to become the next governor of Lagos state.

A statement signed the secretary of the body, Prince Omoniyi Adekanbi, called on PDP Lagos to warn its candidate to desist from peddling false narratives and lies all in the bid to paint the state black in order to justify his desperate antics to occupy the Alausa seat of government.

“Aside making use of old videos and pictures to misrepresent the current state of things in the state, his lack of a documented plan to make the state better than it is now is so obvious that he criticizes what should be normal laws in a mega city like Lagos.

“His recent visit to the homes of perpetual traffic offenders all in a bid to evoke public sympathy leaves so much to be desired and an indication that he lacks the exposure and required experience to govern a cosmopolitan state like Lagos,” Prince Adekanbi wrote.

Lagos Agenda is reacting to the a story of the unfortunate incident of an allegedly murdered a 22-year-old fashion designer, Oluwabamise Ayanwola, by Nice Andrew Omininikoron, a former driver of Bus Rapid Transit in March 2022.

Recall that the family recently cried out for assistance over the accumulated N500,000 mortuary bill of the late fashion designer.

“Today, he stormed the social media with claims of paying for the mortuary fees of late fashion designer, Oluwabamishe, allegedly killed by a BRT driver. Our investigations revealed that as at yesterday, the said mortuary bill have been cleared.

“Jide should tell the world who he paid the said money to and at what time,” he demanded.

The group wondered why while All Progressives Congress, APC, is busy selling its candidates to the electorates and doing wonders in the state, Jide and his frustrated team are looking for all avenues to paint the hard working executive governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, black.

“Why is it difficult for PDP and its candidate to sell its manifesto to the people? Where were they when Lagos successfully confronted COVID-19 and even won several global commendations for its swift response? Where were they and their wisdom when the state was facing security challenges?

“Today, the peace being enjoyed by all in Lagos is as a result of the pragmatic approach of the government led by governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu,” the group submitted.

Prince Adekanbi, therefore, warned the PDP gubernatorial candidate to stop creating unnecessary media attention, which could breach the peace in the state.

“Jide should stop creating panic and fear that are only growing in his head. Lagos is far too advanced to be handed over to rookies who cannot manage a small organization successfully talk of running a local government.

“While democracy encourages healthy competition, the use of propaganda and outright lies should not be encouraged. Lagos Agenda is watching with keen interest and will not allow a dead political party as far as Lagos is concerned, turn Lagos to a training ground for governance,” Prince Adekanbi wrote on behalf of Lagos Agenda.
