“If hypocrisy were a person, it would be Adams Oshiomhole’s female lookalike!”

Reno Omokri, a political commentator and former aide to Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, has accused Oby Ezekwesili of hypocrisy in a recent social media post.

Omokri criticized Ezekwesili for remaining silent regarding a viral video showing members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) threatening to kill a man, Abioye Oladeji, simply because he is Yoruba.

According to Omokri, Ezekwesili’s alleged silence on this matter is in stark contrast to her immediate response when Mmesoma Ejikeme, an Igbo girl, was accused of forging her examination result. At the time, Ezekwesili promptly tagged a Yoruba Muslim Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registrar as a bigot, claiming that he aimed to sabotage Ejikeme out of tribal jealousy.

As tensions continue to rise amid various tribal conflicts within the country, it remains to be seen if Ezekwesili will address the concerns raised by Omokri and others or provide an explanation for her alleged silence on the threats made by IPOB members.

But more than 24 hours after unknown gunmen abducted Abioye Oladeji and brutalised him on camera because of his ethnicity, Oby has remained silent.

Let us flip this and say it happened in the Southwest, and a Mmesoma Ejikeme had been abducted by an armed Yoruba group who brutalised her on camera just because she was Igbo. Would Oby keep quiet?

The same Oby Ezekwesili that asked the Governor of Lagos to publish the tribe of all those whose properties were demolished for being structurally deficient, while ignoring the demolitions Governor Soludo (who gave her a political appointment) was carrying out in Anambra?

The same Oby Ezekwesili that has till today not condemned the killings of US embassy staff in her home state of Anambra on May 16, 2023, yet accused the Yoruba of “ethnic baiting” (her exact words) during the #NigerianElections2023?

The same Oby, who to date has not said anything about the pregnant Northern Muslim woman, Harira Jubril, who was crudely murdered in cold blood on the streets of Anambra State, her home state, with her four underage daughters, Fatima, nine years, Khadija 7 years, Hadiza 5 years, and Zaituna 2 years, in May of 2022, yet was dancing naked in rye street over the ‘injustice’ done to Igbos in Lagos?
