INEC reports 78,451 new applicants in Plateau voter registration as first CVR phase nears completion.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that 78,451 new applicants have registered in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Plateau State.

Mallam Mohammed Sadiq, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), disclosed the update during a stakeholder engagement on Wednesday in Jos.
Sadiq explained that the CVR exercise began online on 18 August, with physical registration commencing on 25 August.
The 78,451 new applicants, 44,142 were classified as incidents, 25,290 had completed physical capture, and 7,019 were yet to be physically captured.
“The first phase of the CVR at all levels will end on 10 December, and the display of the preliminary register for claims and objections will begin from 15 to 21 December,” Sadiq said.
He added that complaints handling would be conducted on 21 December, and the commission plans to resume the CVR for its second phase on 5 January 2026.
In a separate concern, the REC highlighted that 101,200 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) remain unclaimed in Plateau State.
He urged residents who have not collected their PVCs or completed their registration to do so before the 10 December deadline.
