As the spat between popular Nigerian gospel musicians, Tope Alabi and Adeyinka Alaseyori, hots up, new video has emerged to give credence to the fact that the former acted out of jealousy for the latter.
Alaseyori, who has been enjoying a massive show of support from gospel music lovers after Alabi openly criticized her song, had an Instagram live session and was joined by an unexpected guest.
A recording on social media captured the moment Alabi joined the live session and was all smiling the entire time.
Alaseyori, on the other hand, seemed to have been caught off guard and kept on hailing Alabi.
She was heard saying “maami, maami”, a word in Yoruba that translates to “my mother” or often used when addressing an elder person.
Alabi, in turn, picked up a gospel number and both singers happily sang for a few seconds. This was followed by Alabi asking after the singer’s wellbeing.

Nigerians think the video more than anything indicated that the senior singer indeed knew Yinka and maliciously tried to run her down. Many wondered why someone you openly sang with with so much enthusiasm and respect for you could be her target.
Joseph Jaiyeola, who posted the video, wrote:
She was so surprised when Tope Alabi joined her on Video call.
She looked up to Tope Alabi and valued her opinion.
My posting is not to point out Tope Alabi’s mistake, no, but to state the difference between holy spirit speaking and human hatred.
Holy spirit will never say it’s an insult to call God one’s guarantor.
So who is speaking? Is it that Tope Alabi is soo jealous? I really dont know why she said what she said.
However, she needs to apologize to the young lady. Also ask for God’s forgiveness.
Note: No one is perfect. We all make mistake, and will continue to make mistakesssss. REMORSE IS KEY.
celebritiescorner: But she’s supposed to actually apologise 😣
Kofkamdav: Joseph …. Good point bringing this up. I say that bcos people are so quick, or should I say naija ppl are so quick to enable Bullshit! What TA did is wrong and wrong, no 2 ways about it. She should just admit to her mistake kill this whole thing.
Recall that actor Seun Sean Jimoh, reacted to the trending drama between popular gospel singer, Tope Alabi and her upcoming colleague, Yinka Alaseyori.
Alabi had openly criticised Yinka’s music with claims that the Holy Spirit told her the lyrics were wrong and this led to Nigerians attacking Alabi for actions, including some celebrities in the Yoruba film industry.
However, Jimoh lambasted these sets of Yoruba celebrities who decided to take sides in the issue because according to him, they were all cool with Alabi.
