The company’s Chairman, Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel, has stressed the critical need for this initiative to ensure sustainable national development.

Senator Daniel, who is also the Senator representing Ogun East district and former Governor of Ogun State, made these remarks at an interactive session organised by Kresta Laurel as part of its anniversary celebrations.

The event, held at the company’s corporate headquarters in Maryland, Lagos, brought together engineering undergraduates from the University of Lagos, Lagos State University of Science and Technology, and Lagos State University.

Building a Successor Generation

“We need to start building a successor generation,” Senator Daniel stated, emphasising that the interactive session aimed to expose undergraduates to the company’s work and stimulate their interest in the engineering profession.

He stressed that this approach is vital for cultivating the next generation of Nigerian engineers who will be crucial in driving innovation and growth within the sector.

Call for Government Support

Senator Daniel also urged the Federal Government to provide greater support to local industries, enabling them to compete with foreign companies that receive subsidies and support from their respective governments.

“The challenges local manufacturers face in Nigeria is that they provide practically all amenities for themselves—electricity, water, etc. Yet, the companies are slammed with multiple taxes,” he lamented.

However, the Senator expressed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms, the “Nigeria First” initiatives, and tax reforms, expressing hope that these measures will boost the confidence of local entrepreneurs and facilitate business growth.

Investing in Nigeria’s Engineering Future

The interactive training programme for engineering undergraduates underscores Kresta Laurel’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical industry experience, and investing in Nigeria’s engineering future.

Engr. Dideolu Falobi, FNSE, Managing Director of Kresta Laurel Limited, emphasised the company’s dedication to knowledge development.

“For 35 years, Kresta Laurel has maintained its position as a trailblazer in Nigeria’s engineering sector by consistently investing in knowledge development,” he said.

“This initiative represents our dedication to nurturing young engineering talent and equipping them with the practical skills needed to excel in the industry.”

The comprehensive training programme included presentations on Kresta Laurel Limited’s history and achievements by Engr. Dideolu Falobi; a lecture on leadership by Mr. Kehinde Sogunle, former Commissioner for Finance in Ogun State; a session on fire safety and prevention by Mr. Sunkanmi Adegorite, Executive Director of Sales; and insights on health, safety, and environment best practices by the company’s HSE Officer, Habib Lukman.

Student participants reported that the programme provided “invaluable insights into real-world engineering applications” and facilitated connections with industry professionals who offered mentorship and guidance on career development.

We need to start building a successor generation.

Kresta Laurel’s Legacy

Since its establishment in 1990, Kresta Laurel Limited has become a foremost engineering company in Nigeria, with expertise in electro-mechanical systems. The company boasts an impressive portfolio, specialising in:

Under the leadership of Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel, Kresta Laurel has maintained high standards of technical expertise and service delivery across various sectors, including oil and gas, banking, aviation, transportation, manufacturing, construction, and public infrastructure.

Commitment to Excellence and Social Responsibility

Celebrating 35 years of unparalleled service delivery, Kresta Laurel Limited is recognised for its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

The company also demonstrates a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, particularly in education and skills development, as evidenced by its recent interactive session with engineering students.
