His disruptive act prompted swift disciplinary action from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
In a strongly worded statement, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo condemned the incident as a gross violation of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) safety protocols.
He likened Kwam 1’s actions to a “hostage situation” and declared it “totally unacceptable.”
Keyamo directed the NCAA to place Kwam 1 on a no fly list, insisting both the musician and the pilot be held equally accountable. The pilot’s license had already been suspended pending investigation.
While some have criticized the decision as harsh, others have praised the Minister’s firm stance on **aviation safety.
Keyamo emphasized that no amount of status or celebrity should override public safety, warning that any airline violating the no-fly directive risks license revocation.
