The Lagos State Government has announced a restriction on working hours at building sites across the state. The new regulation limits construction work to between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, from Monday to Saturday
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]his was announced by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, in Alausa on Thursday.

Dr. Olumide stated that strict adherence to this restriction order is mandatory for all involved in building construction activities in the state, and that relevant government agencies will enforce compliance.
He added that exceptions to work outside these hours may be considered, but only upon formal application, which will be evaluated based on its merits.
The restriction order must be strictly adhered to by all those involved in building construction in the State as relevant Government Agencies would enforce compliance.
Dr. Olumide explained that the decision to restrict working hours at building sites is necessary to protect the environment, prevent building collapse, and promote the social well-being and wellness of residents.

He urged residents to report any construction site found to be in violation of the order.
