LASWA enhances accessibility with stair lift installation at Falomo head office

LASWA has installed a modern stair lift at its Falomo office, improving accessibility for persons with mobility challenges in Lagos

 

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has taken a major step toward social inclusion and accessibility with the installation of a modern stair lift at its Falomo head office in Ikoyi.

This initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s THEMES+ agenda, which prioritises inclusivity, and supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 10, which advocates for reducing inequalities.

The state-of-the-art stair lift is designed to assist individuals with mobility challenges, including persons with disabilities and the elderly, in navigating the building safely and comfortably.

This move underscores LASWA’s commitment to improving customer experience by ensuring that all visitors, staff, and stakeholders can access its services without barriers.

In a press statement, LASWA General Manager, Mr Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, reiterated the agency’s dedication to enhancing accessibility in public facilities.

“We believe that access to public facilities should not be a barrier to anyone.

The installation of this stair lift is a testament to our continuous efforts to create a welcoming environment for all, regardless of physical ability.

We remain committed to making Lagos waterways and our offices more inclusive and accessible to everyone,” he stated.

This latest development is part of LASWA’s broader strategy to upgrade infrastructure across its facilities, ensuring safety, convenience, and improved service delivery for all Lagos residents.
