Israel has released an intercepted voice recording of Hamas operatives admitting their involvement in accidentally bombing Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital with a failed rocket.
This incident has raised concerns about the safety of the hospital and the ongoing conflict.
IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari explained that an IDF investigation determined that a rocket, launched from a cemetery near the hospital, misfired and crashed into a parking lot adjacent to the hospital.
Tragically, civilians seeking shelter were in the vicinity when the rocket’s warhead and propellant fuel ignited, resulting in the explosion.
Hagari highlighted that the absence of visible craters or structural damage on the hospital building is inconsistent with the use of Israeli munitions.
This revelation provides a new perspective on the incident and underscores the complexities and challenges faced during conflicts in the region. The international community continues to closely monitor the situation and seek ways to ensure the safety of civilians and critical infrastructure in conflict zones.
